Frequently Asked Questions about Married for Life |
| |
Who can attend a group?
Married for Life groups are for married couples who are willing to work on their marriage together. |
| |
How can we get into a Married for Life group?
To join a Married for Life group, you must attend an outreach party. You will be given full information about groups, what is taught, when they meet, etc, and you will hear testimonies from graduating couples. If you would then like to join a group, you may sign up at that time. |
| |
How long does each Married for Life group last?
Each group lasts 14 weeks and is followed by an Outreach Party to which you can invite family and friends. |
| |
Can couples join anytime during the 14 weeks?
No. The group is closed to new members during the 14 weeks. This provides continuity as well as confidentiality for group members. Each group consists of up to 7 couples including the leaders. |
| |
Is there a fee?
The registration fee is S$80 per couple for the entire course. The registration fee is kept nominal so that no couple is prevented from attending a group due to financial constraints. In addition, a freewill offering is taken each week during the group meeting. |
| |
What can we expect from a group?
Married for Life groups are not counseling sessions. Each week a specific scriptural principle is taught that when applied to your marriage, will transform your relationship. Each lesson is accompanied by homework that reinforces the principle taught in the group. The degree to which a couple is committed to working on their marriage is the degree to which they will see changes. |
| |
Who teaches these groups?
Each group is lead by a Lead Couple and a Leader-in-Training Couple. They have undergone rigorous training and must participate in ongoing training and discipling to be 2=1 leaders. Each couple must be recommended by their pastors and have a good relationship with their local church. |
| |
How can we find out about a group near us?
